A Poem.

9th  march, 2015.

The King of Kings
(A tribute to His Majesty The Fourth King of Bhutan)

The sound of singing birds, the dawn of a beautiful day,
The ebbing waves of the Indian Ocean, the beach of Galle Face Green
A sigh, a breath of relief, amidst the busy schedule of med school,
I think of my legendary king and the heartfelt tribute I need to pay.

Fortunate are the citizens of my country,
Blessed are they to have a king-a vision of perfection, a visionary, a style icon,
A monarch who held modernisation responsibly and took it head on,
With the agility of an acrobat, wisdom of a philosopher and courage of a soldier,
He nurtured peoples dreams and shaped Bhutans modern legacy, diligently.

His Majesty has made numerous inroads, fulfilled inexpressible desires
And led the country on the path to progress, year after year,
Built a foundation of a future enveloped in peace and happiness
A sense of belonging, security and responsibility he has managed to steer,
Right to education, vote, sanitation and health have all come near.

Dutiful sons and daughters of my country-my beautiful Bhutan,
Lift your eyes and see-what His Majesty has done, for you and me,
Stand up with pride and see the dreams flower in His Majestys eye,
From the bottom of your heart bless him with long life and happiness,
With every breath you take, bless our King who fill'd our life with gladness.

Happy 60th Birthday, Your Majesty.
